Half a year old!

Our baby girl turned 6 months old this past Saturday! This is a pretty big milestone and we are just amazed. We were able to get pictures done today and Eliza is nearly back to herself.

I am baby! Hear me roar!  (and check out my growing belly!)

Weight: 13lbs 14oz. 12th percentile.  Though, probably less after her illness this weekend.  Our pediatrician is happy with her weight gain so we are, too!

Length: 25.5in give or take, 35th percentile.

Size: She still fits in her 3 month onesies, but 6 months fit better length-wise.  She's in 6-9 month sleepers and pants.

Teeth: There is a teeny white dot on her bottom gum, but nothing poking through yet.  She's been snotty and drooly, so maybe teething!

Sleeping: Eliza went through a 3 day night wake spurt that had us nervous we were losing our precious nights--but it was just a short term thing.  She isn't napping as much at daycare anymore.  She's just too darn playful!

Eating: We hit our goal of going 6 months exclusively on breastmilk!  Eliza has tried rice cereal on the spoon and isn't quite ready for it.  We continue to try every couple of days.  Once she's mastered the spoon a little, we'll move on to some veggie and fruit purees!  She'll continue with breastmilk bottles with a little rice cereal added for her reflux.  She's still on her prilosec for reflux, as well, and it is under control!

Movement: She can sit all by herself and catch her balance quite easily.  She almost gets herself onto her belly from the sitting position--a pre-crawling move!

Milestones: Standing supported for prolonged periods and almost pulling herself up (with support).  First taste of cereal in a spoon.  First airplane ride and trip to Florida--including swimming and the beach!  First Thanksgiving!

Favorite Toys:  The old standards--giraffe teether, miss froggy, activity mat.  Rubber duckies.  Any toy she can stick in her mouth and chew on!  She likes to stand and play with toys.

Dislikes:  Still sleeves.  She does not like getting her clothes changed!  She also still hates the car seat.  She also doesn't' like when Mommy or Daddy walk out of her sight while she's playing in the living room.

Words/sounds: She's working on her "b" sounds.  She LOVES to make spitty raspberries over and over.

Our little girl is growing so fast!  We love her so much and are so excited to see what the next few months bring!

not this hat again!

  1. Love the pictures, especially the ones with her playing with the lights. So precious.
