Toddler Tuesday!

We took this video last night and I just love it.

We had a great vacation last week on the Oasis of the Seas!  It'll probably take us awhile to sort through our pictures and compose posts.  So hopefully we can start sharing next week!

Toddler Friday: Videos

As we head south for our cruise, we thought we would leave you with some videos.  The first is Eliza's attempt to help a friend to a good night.

Dance class.  What is Daddy dong with the camera?

Shakin' it.

Eliza singin' one of her favorite songs.

Happy Valentines Day!

Random Photos!

I realized I'd never posted this to the blog.  We took this one day after work, when Eliza was gathering cups.  One is never enough!  ;)

Also, that shirt she's wearing is nearly 1 year old.  When I got it (from Naartjie, a favorite brand of ours found online), I ordered three colors:  green, turquoise, and pink.  I have to say, they are the best shirts and have held up incredibly well.  Can you believe she's been wearing the same shirts for about one year!  Here's proof!  From St. Patrick's Day last year:

20 months old!

Yesterday Eliza turned 20 months old.  No way--I don't like this being in the 20s thing!  Lately we look at Eliza and she is turning more and more into an independent toddler.  We can start to see glimpses of her grown up face and the thought of her being a teenager both excites and frightens us!  Thankfully, though, we're still just at 20 months.  :)  So, here's the latest on our sweet baby girl!

Basics:
  • 22lbs, 33in tall--getting thinner and more kid-like.
  • Just moved up to a size 4 diaper, but hanging out in size 4 shoes.  Firmly in 12-18 month clothes, though some 18-24 month sizes do fit, as well.  Nowhere near a 2T or 24 month, though!
  • Sleeping 12 hours at night, 1 hour nap at daycare, 2 hour nap at home on weekends.  Will sleep in until 8-8:30am on weekends!
  • Master of the spoon!  Mostly.  Can use utensils with left and right hands; is better with the spoon, but getting more proficient with the fork.
  • Loving blueberries, yogurt, crackers.
  • She sits on the froggy (portable) potty every night before bed and also on the real potty at daycare.  No action yet, though!  Baby steps.

Speech:
  • Some new words:  cracker, cookie, home, snack, water, apple, hooray, remote (a version of it at least), TV, hat, potty, pee pee, froggy.
  • She is saying Mama and Daddy (both syllables!) soooooo much now, and we love it!
  • This girl has become a talking machine.  She's adding new words and impressing us every day.
  • Favorite things to day:  "bye-bye car" while driving--but "bye-bye" to anything we ask!--Elmo, Chica, baby.
  • She is singing songs now!  Row Your Boat and Twinkle Twinkle.  It's hilarious to hear.  She can't say all the words, but manages to say enough sounds to make up the appropriate phrasing.

Milestones:
  • First popsicle
  • I really can't think of any more!
Her Likes:
  • Elmo and Chica on TV.
  • Dance class and doing her dance moves at home.
  • Singing.
  • Climbing up and down stairs.
  • Brushing her teeth.
  • Cuddling her baby doll or stuffed Elmo.
Playing patty cake on the potty.
Our Likes:
  • Being called by name.
  • Her excitement when we come visit her or pick her up from daycare.
  • Watching her learn and show off her dance moves--so impressive what she has absorbed and can do.
  • Hugs and kisses.

Her Dislikes:
  • When it's time to stop reading books and go to bed.
  • Getting in the car.
  • When Elmo or Chica isn't on TV (she brings us all the remotes, and will climb up to find them).
Our Dislikes:
  • Rough bedtime (once or twice a week).
  • Sick girl--she had a cough/runny nose again this past month, and some eczema.
  • When she doesn't sleep in!  :)
Sliding down the steps!
It's been a great, though very cold, month!  We love Eliza more than anything and watching her grow up is incredible.  This coming month will be very exciting as we take Eliza on her first cruise!

First Popsicle (in January!)

As odd as it sounds, Eliza had her first popsicle not too long ago--yes, in the middle of January!  While it may be cold outside, they just sounded yummy and we had some real fruit juice popsicles in the freezer.  So why not?

Eliza wasn't too sure about it, though.  But something tells me she'll probably eat them right up this summer.  :)

I'm the cutest!
What.is.that.
Well, ok, I guess I'll try it.
I don't love, it, but I'll smile for you, Mama!

Playtime!

We had a couple days of great weather recently, and while I was out of town for work Gary and Eliza took advantage by playing outside and taking a nice walk.  They finished the day with some great fun in the basement!  We all missed each other, but Gary took pictures to share when I returned.  And they are wonderful!

Oooh, outside!
Liking the wind on her tongue.
Grown up girl--this one almost made me cry she's so big!
Peek-a-boo!
Here I am!!!
I spy Daddy!
