Basics:
- 22lbs, 33in tall--getting thinner and more kid-like.
- Just moved up to a size 4 diaper, but hanging out in size 4 shoes. Firmly in 12-18 month clothes, though some 18-24 month sizes do fit, as well. Nowhere near a 2T or 24 month, though!
- Sleeping 12 hours at night, 1 hour nap at daycare, 2 hour nap at home on weekends. Will sleep in until 8-8:30am on weekends!
- Master of the spoon! Mostly. Can use utensils with left and right hands; is better with the spoon, but getting more proficient with the fork.
- Loving blueberries, yogurt, crackers.
- She sits on the froggy (portable) potty every night before bed and also on the real potty at daycare. No action yet, though! Baby steps.
Speech:
- Some new words: cracker, cookie, home, snack, water, apple, hooray, remote (a version of it at least), TV, hat, potty, pee pee, froggy.
- She is saying Mama and Daddy (both syllables!) soooooo much now, and we love it!
- This girl has become a talking machine. She's adding new words and impressing us every day.
- Favorite things to day: "bye-bye car" while driving--but "bye-bye" to anything we ask!--Elmo, Chica, baby.
- She is singing songs now! Row Your Boat and Twinkle Twinkle. It's hilarious to hear. She can't say all the words, but manages to say enough sounds to make up the appropriate phrasing.
Milestones:
- First popsicle
- I really can't think of any more!
Her Likes:
- Elmo and Chica on TV.
- Dance class and doing her dance moves at home.
- Singing.
- Climbing up and down stairs.
- Brushing her teeth.
- Cuddling her baby doll or stuffed Elmo.
Playing patty cake on the potty. |
Our Likes:
- Being called by name.
- Her excitement when we come visit her or pick her up from daycare.
- Watching her learn and show off her dance moves--so impressive what she has absorbed and can do.
- Hugs and kisses.
Her Dislikes:
- When it's time to stop reading books and go to bed.
- Getting in the car.
- When Elmo or Chica isn't on TV (she brings us all the remotes, and will climb up to find them).
Our Dislikes:
- Rough bedtime (once or twice a week).
- Sick girl--she had a cough/runny nose again this past month, and some eczema.
- When she doesn't sleep in! :)
Sliding down the steps! |
It's been a great, though very cold, month! We love Eliza more than anything and watching her grow up is incredible. This coming month will be very exciting as we take Eliza on her first cruise!
