Just wanted to make the blog a little more festive today!

16 Weeks Old

This week we spent a nice relaxing Friday night at home.  On Thursday though, we had a fun visit from my friend Melissa.  Melissa and her husband Eric (both DPU grads, go Tigers!) are expecting their first child in February!  Anyway, Melissa is an incredible knitter (see for yourself: Knot Your Average Knits) and brought Eliza two amazing headbands.  Thanks, Melissa!!

Yesterday, Eliza and Mommy went for a little shopping trip together at Whale of a Sale, which is a large consignment sale.  It was half-price day and Eliza came home with several cute new outfits for amazing prices.  I used the Ergo carrier and she slept like an angel for most of the 2 hours we were out of the house.

Today was a grocery shopping day.  Our fridge was very empty and is now happy and full!  We also came home with a new big girl toy for our almost-four-month-old!  She's a little small for it still, but she seems to like it!

One year ago...

One year ago, we found out I was pregnant with Eliza.  That means she has been a part of our lives for a whole year now, even though she's only a little over 3 months old.  We're so incredibly blessed to have her to keep us company and entertained.  We love you, Eliza Joy Ann!

New Toy!

We got Eliza a new toy with different textures and sounds.  She immediately grabbed it and tried to stick it in her mouth!  I think she likes it :)

Family Fun

This past Saturday we attended a family carry-in / baby shower for my cousin, who is due with a baby girl 11/11/11!  We had so much fun!

15 Weeks!

Eliza celebrated being 15 weeks with a fancy dinner with friends!  We met the Sirkens for a dinner at Ruth's Chris on the Northside Nights special ($30 for 3 courses per person).  Because my birthday is in 2 weeks, we told the restaurant we were celebrating my birthday--and I got a free extra dessert!  The waitress gave Holly one, too, just because she'd never been to the restaurant before.  She got the biggest piece of carrot cake I've ever seen!  Fun evening with friends!

For the photo this week, Gary and I decided we'd add our own baby pictures, too.  Eliza often looks like one or the other of us in pictures.  So let's just see . . .

14 Weeks!

We spent Eliza's 14 week birth-day enjoying our favorite pizza place: Pizzology.  Even though we had to wait over 30 minutes for a table, Eliza was great.  Right before we got our table we fed her a bottle and she fell asleep in her car seat while we ate dinner.  It was great timing!  We love our little sweet pea!  And check out her cute little rear in her little jeans!  :)  Such a cutie.

Overdue 3 Month Post!

Sorry for the belated post!  Eliza spent her three month birthday with Daddy, and then she picked me up at the airport in Chicago the next day.  We had a wonderful reunion!  We then went to our great friends', Josh and Lauren, wedding in downtown Chicago.  Eliza spent some time with the babysitter at the wedding/reception, and I spent plenty of time with Eliza and the babysitter!  :)  Eliza also got to enjoy meeting many of our law school friends during the wedding reception and had so much fun!  We spent the next day with our great friend Rob and walking in downtown Chicago.  What a fun weekend!  

here are Eliza's current "stats":

Age:  3 months!

Weight: around 11 lbs (no appt. this month!)

Length: my attempt at measurements was 24 in!
Size: 0-3 in length.  Her newborn pants still fit, but are too short!

Teeth: nothing to report!

Sleeping: Consistently 7 to 8 hours overnight = happy mommy and daddy!

Eating: still exclusively on breastmilk.  probably around 30 oz per day?

Movement: She can sit up with support.  She rolls from back to side.

Milestones: Finding her hands!  Getting her first case of the sniffles :(

Favorite Toys:  Her Baby Einstein Bendy Ball.  She still enjoys her activity mat, too.

 Dislikes: Waiting to eat.  Getting saline drops in her nose and the following bulb suction.

Words/sounds: Still cooing all the time!

13 Weeks ( a few days late)

I guess Daddy didn't have time to update the blog while alone with Eliza all week!  LOL, who knew? ;)

I mispoke last week when I said Eliza's three month birthday and thirteen week birthday fell on the same day--so that just means a three-month post is coming later today!

Here are a few pictures from Eliza's 13th week that she spent with Daddy while Mommy vacationed (and missed her girl and guy like crazy!), and one picture from the Windy City of Chicago!
