A, G, and E: About Us

Gary and Abby met way back when we were in the 5th grade, at Abby's neighbors' house. Gary's mom was there for a church meeting and Gary came with her. Abby was there just playing. Abby knew about Gary even though we attended different schools, because her friends in dance liked to talk about boys!

In 6th grade, the schools combined and we became friends--even briefly boyfriend and girlfriend! Abby had a crush on Gary for nearly 2 years, before we became boyfriend and girlfriend on August 22, 1997.

After graduating Rochester High School and DePauw University together, we were married July 29, 2006.

Our First Dance

After college, we attended Valparaiso University together--one year as masters students--and three additional years at the School of Law. We were the ultimate study buddies, helping each other graduate with honors in May 2010 and still maintain sanity! In the summer that followed, we studied and took the bar exam.

Off we go on the next adventure!

Immediately following the bar exam, we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and took a family vacation to Australia for 2 weeks capped by a short trip to Hawaii. One day when we hit it rich, we will buy a vacation home in Port Douglas in northern Queensland to enjoy the beach, reef, and rainforest.

Shortly after returning from Australia we happily learned that Abby was pregnant! The baby was due June 1, 2011.

5 weeks pregnant!

On October 1, 2010 we received equally incredible news: we both passed the Indiana bar exam!

In December 2010, we committed to the the most expensive purchase we'd ever contemplated: building a home.

In January 2011, we learned that having a baby was going to get even more expensive, because the baby was a GIRL! Cue shopping sprees by Abby, and both grandmothers!
