We have been working hard the last month, and not just in the nursery! The painting in the entire house is finished, minus the master bathroom (low on priority list) and kitchen (still undecided on plan of action). On the first floor, we're nearly done with decor, as well. The office is still in a bit of a disarray, as we need to unpack books and hang pictures on the wall. However, the great room, entry, and powder bath are finished! Here are some pictures of the finished product:
| Main Wall: second-hand Ikea shelves painted white. Pictures from our wedding and travels; several of the frames we got from Goodwill for $1 or $2 and spray painted brown. We got that couch a year ago when we moved to Indy. |
| Open concept (please ignore messy kitchen!!). Loveseat matches sofa; coffee table and side table were wedding gifts from my siblings almost 5 years ago now! We'll upgrade eventually. |
| Window wall. Side table is from Grandpa Rom. Uncle Gary (my Gary's namesake) made that a.m.a.z.i.n.g. chair from natural wood and the seats are hand-woven. It's incredibly comfortable. The antique lawyer cases were given to us by my Uncle Brian. My late Aunt Jeanne Anne loved antiques, and we're thrilled that we have pieces she chose in our new home. Other Aunt Jeanne Anne touches in this photo: the platter with stones on the side table and the big blue wine bottle she gave us as gifts when we got married. |
| Baby corner! :) Our gear is zoo themed (I know, totally not my style, usually, but it just works!). Eventually I want to hang a 16x20 or larger canvas of a newborn portrait of Eliza. |
| Fireplace wall. Mounted TV and sound bar/speaker. Candelabra was a wedding gift. The left-hand picture my mom took of our address block and framed--a nice touch! The right-hand picture is from our maternity shoot in downtown Zionsville--storybook backdrop. Those stools almost match our couch pillows perfectly (can you tell?), but they were purchased this past winter at Meijer. They provide ottoman space or additional seating (ask our friends as these provided good seats in the their recent visits!). My Aunt Jeanne Anne also provided the wine bottle and flowers that are on the TV Stand. The TV stand is from my Grandma Troutman--my Dad's grandpa built that! |
| Entry way (color is Almond-something, not yellow!) and new chair rail. My Mom gave us the chair rail pieces, which used to be in her old kitchen. We painted them to match our trim. Eventually we'll add crown moulding, maybe. Gary and his Dad installed it (though this particular angle Gary did by himself with the aid of a newly-purchased protractor from CVS!!). |
| Second view of entry. |
| Our front door with chair rail (study to the left--reveal will be later when it's finished). |
| Powder bath reflection with chair rail. We'll hang that picture eventually, too. |

| Second view of powder bath. |
I'm very happy with the progress so far. I guess I fibbed when I said the spaces were completely finished. We actually have a few more things to hang on the wall, like a mirror and couple other pieces of art. Close enough, though! The study is next on the list to finish. Then the guest room--which will be so super cute when I'm finished with it.
So, how is that for over-sharing?
