Gymnastics Fun!

I wanted to share an update on Eliza's gymnastics class.  We have had 8 weeks of class, and have just one more left.  She loves class.  We try not to mention it until we pick her up in the afternoon when we are going--sometimes waiting until we are halfway there--because she gets so excited and shouts "nastics!!"

Straddle stretch

Getting set to throw a bean bag with her feet

Ready to swing on the rings
I am so proud of how Eliza has improved and shown improved coordination and strength.  One thing she has loved from day one and is seriously so good at, is the handstand.
Great handstand!

Bear walk

Practicing on the high beam

Ready for class!

Pike stretch

Having fun!

Stepping over the obstacles
A week ago, there were inflatable flamingos used as obstacles to step over on the balance beam.  Reminding us that this is a toddler class, Eliza was more interested in giving hugs to the flamingos!  Each one (there were 4) every time we came to this beam.
Sweet flamingo

Taking a break

Walking sideways on the high-low bars
I'm also going to share several videos!  After just a couple weeks, Eliza has been doing forward rolls by herself down the wedge.  They aren't always perfect, but we're proud anyway!  She also has great strength and can swing on the rings and the bars, mostly by herself.

It has been a fun summer!
